I have two favorites.
Forbidden Planet was the first color sci fi and is still run on cable. It had the original Robby the Robot and monsters from the psychi. You will see features later used in Star Trek and other Sci Fi movies.
My second is one called On the Beach, about post-nuclear world with the survivers on a US sub visiting NY and then going to Australia, the last place where the nuclear fallout was expected to kill people. This is a very scarey and sad movie.

Star Wars is the only one that sticks out. That and the disney film the Black Hole.

The only one I can think of is Car Wash. It reminds me of when I had a family. Can't you just remember the Car Wash song? It's had to get that song out of your head once you think about it.
