Everybody knows that the Smurfs represent a Communist society. No money, everybody contributes to their community, everybody shares with each other. Don't confuse it with a Socialist state which is what the USSR was and China still is.

smurf village seems kind of like a commune... they have people that don't do anything but look at themselves all day (vanity smurf) and play practical jokes on each other all day (jokey smurf)...

yet they all seem to share the wealth of the village equally...

(I can't believe I'm talking about the political structure of smurf village and supporting it with examples)
