-Just an OPINION. There's no objectivity in my POV
Fact: Seahawks' rating went up and the Broncos' rating went down. But the Broncos aren't that crappy crappy team and they have home field, so it's reasonable to give them 4 points (why not instead of -4, -3? "It's more tempting to take Seahawks +4 or the nice ML." and hey, it's a great buy, everybody will be over that spread, especially that ML. So, all the money will be on the Seahawks. Now, here's the deal: have you ever seen a casino lose? So far, in my 25 years of life, no. Casinos are money maker machines (any normal person knows that) since the "odds are against the bettor." My conclusion is that the sportsbooks like the Broncos and the public likes the Seahawks. I'm wondering who makes most of the money?
I think that for a regular football or sports fan, a spread means "which team is better" but for a gambler, it means more than that.
Seahawks are a good team. They even made it to the SB last year. I visited Seattle just 2 weeks ago (Microsoft in Redmond), and I loved that stadium. I took about 20 pics with it :-P Best of luck for the Seahawks this Sunday night.

My opinion is b/c it's in Denver and they still have a stellar run D. They have only given up 6 rushing TD I think. Even though the Seahawks have Alexander back he has not done anything besides last week and let's not forget that they played Green Bay. Not the best run D around. I've seen some high school teams play better against the run. Even with Hassleback in the mix he is still a little banged up. But I can feel your pain I am an Eagles fan. So I know what it's like to watch your team stink it up. The only thing I can say is good luck to you next year.

In my opinion, for what thats worth, both teams have a equal chance of winning this game.
If you asked me 3 weeks ago who would win this game I would have just laughed heartily and said the Seahawks might as well not even show up.
But things change quickly in the NFL.
The Bronco have been steadily falling with inconsistency and change at QB. They have not been able to get their running game going all season. The only really good thing they have going for them is Javon Walker and the defense.
Seattle is on the rise. Now that Alexander is back (and looked like he had a healthy ankle last week) and Hassleback had a good 2nd half of the game last week it looks like they might be getting back where they need to be just in the nick of time.
If I had to guess, the reason the Broncos are favored by 4 is partially due to the fact they are playing at home. They have a good defense and they are very tough to beat at Invesco. That might account for 3 pts of the spread.
If Seattle can win this game they should definatly command more respect. If they can go into Denver and smash the Broncos... look out.... their possible back for another run for the Super Bowl.

Don't question it, just use that and make some money. Good luck. Broncos suck! If that arrogant Shanahan thinks Cutler the rookie is his answer he's suffering from too much time in the tanning booth. Did I mention that the Broncos suck. I hate them. Good luck Seahawks. My two favorite teams are the Chiefs and whoever plays against the Broncos! Go Seahawks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK, so I'm trying not to vomit when i say this, but for the first time in my life....Go Seahawks.........ok now that i got that outta the way, the broncos are putting in a rookie qb, and his first game is gonna be against the reigning nfc champs back at full force i think all the seahawks need to do is pressure cutler, force him to make a couple bad choices, then take advantage from their.

Like answers above me, it comes down to home field advantage. You have two equally talented playoff contenders, so to create a spread (although minimal), the home team gets the nod.
I do find it odd in this situation though- Denver is starting a Rookie QB, Tatums toes are hurting, and Shaun Alexander is back on his horse.

Because they will be in Denver, I don't care for either team but my money is on the seapigeons. I believe Cutler is starting for the donkies. If Alexander has a good game it will opened it up for Hasslebuck.

Part of the reason they are favored is because they will be playing in Denver. That stadium is going to be tough to play in due to the weather. And Denver always play well at home.
