I am thinking about getting the cute pink version for my daughter for Christmas. She has tons of Gameboy Advance games and the DS lite looks like it carries a lot of games for girls. Anyother suggestions?
My son has the PSP that he really likes. Only problem is I don't see many girl-friendly games for it.

The DS Lite Does Play GameBoy Advance Games, But Being That They Made The System Smaller, The Game 'Paks' Stick Out A Bit, But Is Still Playable
(note that when playing 'gba', aka gameboy advance games, they will not play on both screes, but you choose which screen you want it to be on. also, the DS screens are bigger than the gameboy advance units and does not expand to it's size, so there will be a big black border around the gba game screen)

A General 'Girl Game' Reccomended Is 'Nintendogs' (1), A Virtual Puppy Training Non-Game ('non-game' meaning there's no specific goals, high scores, levels, etc) That Lets You Do Things Like Walking, Washing, Feeding, Training Tricks, Doing Contests, And More With Your Dog Using The Touch Screen And Voice Commands To The Built-In Microphone.

For Any Other Games And 'Non-Games' That She, And Maybe You, May Enjoy, Check Out Nintendo's Own 'Touch Generations' Line Of Games (2), Simple Software That Anyone Can Pick Up And Play..

As For The PSP, Very True, There's Currently No 'Girl-Friendly' Games On There That She May Like. Only Thing I Can Probably Think Of Are Some Puzzle Games..
But The Attraction For The PSP Is That It Does So Much More Than Games, Playing Movies, Music, View Photos, Go Online, Download, And Coming Soon, Have Attatchments Like GPS And A Camera For Different Things, One Of Which Is Take Photos, Make Movies, And Supposedly Video Chat. Also, There's Some 'Non-Games' On The PSP As Well, One Is A Travel-Friendly Translater (includes microphone) To Make Some Small Talk In Other Countries Like Japan, Spain, etc (includes some training to teach yourself to speak a language)..
But Overall, Your Son Would Proabably Really Enjoy The PSP, But There's Some Things On The DS He May Like As Well..

Yes, it is backwards compatable with GameBoy Advance games. There is a slot on the bottom for them. DS games go in the top, they're really small and look sorta like a microchip.

The DS would be a great choice for her, it has a much wider variety of games for all ages and genders. If she likes her GameBoy Advance or SP, which ever she has, she'll love a DS Lite.

Yes - The Nintendo DS Lite does play Gameboy Advance Games.

I own a PSP and I must admit that the games for the PSP do appear to be more 'for the boys'.

you're not far from me in AZ. more than likely, any GameStop near you is like all of the GameStops near me; NONE of them take PS2 items any longer. you MAY find one that will accept PS2 items, but you won't get much. 1. GBA games may not be taken anymore since the 3DS is the top handheld for Nintendo and it has no backwards compatibility with GBA games (the DSi has been out for a while too, and it also has no backwards compatibility with GBS games). the best thing you can do is take your games into GameStop. and the box means nothing. even if you had the boxes (for GBA games), GameStop may just throw them away. 2. GameStop doesn't accept PC games. so you will get nothing for that. 3. GameStop will NOT accept sealed games. you need to take the wrapper off. they will be traded in as used though. they can't credit you for new items. 4. value does not change from city to city or state to state. there is one value across the country. the only thing you can do is take ALL of your stuff into your local GameStop. they will look everything up and then give you a price.

Yes, it plays them. Problem is, they'll stick out about 1cm from the base. So if that cosmetic inconvenience doesn't bother her, I say go for it. Nintendogs would be a good game for her if she likes dogs(its a dog raising sim).
