Pumping, is definatly breast stimulation. I know this sounds crazy, but at week 39 I was so ready to have my daughter I would have tried anything. And I pumped and I also stimulated my nipples... I had contractions but never went into labor. My dr. told me I wouldn't ever go into labor on my own, so I ended up having to have a c-section... Moral of the story, try it. Different things work for diffrent people. (Plus pumping starts to get your breast ready for that lil baby to eat!!)
Good Luck and God Bless

If you are 37 1\2 weeks you shouldn't even worry about your baby coming until it is due. i don't understand why people try to get there babies out before they are even ready FULL TERM IS 37 WEEKS tell your doctor what you have been up to. I m sorry so i am not understanding why everybody wants there babies out when they aren't ready I am 41 weeks tomorrow and all I can think about is if my baby is ready and healthy enough to come out at this stage. I was put on sick leave from work at 30 weeks due to back and hip pain so I do understand what it is like to bed on bed rest but your baby is the important thing right now and you have come this far just hang in there and wait it out.

in case you're no longer feeding, you're able to be pumping, so it is not as common because it sounds... that total sleep throughout the time of the night, and have dad provide a bottle, it particularly is extra like dad provides the bottle jointly as you pump. Or in my case, I gave the bottle and then pumped. in case you nonetheless choose to however, i'd noticeably advise the Medela Pump in form. It value me $250, and that i've got been utilising it for 9 months now (used it to pump completely for 3 months for the period of a medical difficulty). it particularly is particularly as much less costly as you may get a solid double electric powered breast pump for. the rest and you're particularly dropping your money, from my journey. The little $40 from Wal Mart or maybe though is merely crap. FOR ME, it could artwork for different mothers, fairly for short-term use. merely had to characteristic that for the period of there.

Actually, I have heard that gentle pulling and/or rolling the nipples in between your fingers can do the trick. The sex, walking as much as you can (I know your pain) and doing squats can help push you into labor too. I have a feeling that because of all the pressure you are talking about, you will be going into labor soon anyway. This was the way it was for me. You are in that stage where you just want to get it over with....LOL
Good luck with everything.
Have a happy and healthy baby!

Contractions differ for everyone. When I went to birthing classes, they told us that contractions would start toward the back and move around to the front...so totally didn't happen with me. I just felt like I has menstrual cramps the whole time. As contractions got stronger the "menstrual cramps" got worse. The pain never got above my lower abdomin.
There is also back labor. That 's a whole different story.

As bad as you want the baby out, you have to realize that the baby stays in until it's ready. You are just BARELY concidered full term. Don't pump your breasts and potentially cause a low supply or a supply that isn't age appropriate for your baby. Your breastmilk changes constantly to meet the needs of your baby. If you start now and he/she isn't born for 4 weeks you are doing no one any good. Your baby needs the colostrum and the natural progression of milk production. The baby's needs come before your comfort.

Don't pump your breast, but you can do nipple stimulation. If your 100% effaced you're really close. I know it's hard put trying to make yourself go into labor is just frustrating. It will happen when your baby and you are ready. If not your doctor will probably induce you after you are full term.

You don't have to actually pump your breasts. Try gentle nipple stimulation it makes the uterus contract. That is one of the many good reasons to breastfeed. It helps your uterus get back to it's pre baby size faster.
Castor oil is not safe, I wouldn't take it.

Right, castor oil is not a very good idea. Breast pumping - I was told it's nipple stimulation (I tried that, didn't work for me though).

Chiropractic treatment or massage therapy could help to make you more comfortable.
Nothing you can do is going to induce labor unless your body is ready.
