start with your dirty clothes so it doesn't go to a complete waste and then steam clean it.

I would recommend using a wet vac and slowly pour hot water (almost to the boiling point) on the spot and vacuum it up at the same time (this will open up the dye ports on the carpet fibre releasing the stain. and remove the residue from the carpet). If the stain is still visible than use a little carpet spotter on it or Dawn dishwashing liquid (2 or 3 drops into one cup of water) and repeat step 1. The stain may come back in a few days so you may have to do this a few times. Please DO NOT put anything on the carpet that was not made for carpet. At this point if the stain is still there please call a carpet cleaner.

soak up as much as you possibly can...if you have a shop vac or steam cleaner do the following: pour small amounts of vinegar on the spot and vac up ..repeat until all suds have disappeared. Soap attracts new dirt so you want to make sure you have it all.

well soak up as much of it as you can with paper towels or as the guy above suggested you dirty laundry then to kill the suds put alcohol on the spill, and then soak it up some more, continue until it is gone. Or if you have a shop vac. then alcohol and water mixture onto the soaked up spill and suck it out with the shop vac. just have to keep on with the water and alchohol until it gone.

I'd use a rug shampooer/steamer with just water in it. It'll probably take awhile but I'd go over and over it until the water came up clear.

Best way would be a steam cleaner. You can rent them all over the place.
