Ok, my stepdad has a Dell Inspiron 5160 with a 3.2 Ghz P4 in it. Needless to say it runs very hot. However, it remains uncleaned and it sounds like it's heater rather than a computer mostly.

Well, my mom was using it, and she said it suddenly froze, the computer screen flashed white, then red, then blue then green and kept doing this until she shut it off. When she turned it back on, there were blue lines and some other stuff she had trouble explaining. Now when she turns it on, instead of showing the Windows XP loading screen, it just goes black.

What do you think happened? I sincerely think something could have burned out.

If it runs hot, she might have fried the CPU. If nothing at all appears on the screen, and it makes no noise, then I'll bet it's the CPU.

If it makes a beeping sound, or madness appears on the screen, then it's probably the memory chips.

I'd have it checked out to be sure.

I'd suggest opening the case and having a look. It definately sounds like something overheated, most likely the processor.
