nope, they are not kidding! Sucks but it's the way the game is played....Glad for my Subaru even more now! My replacement key only cost $7.00! I don't know of a cheaper way, unless you know someone in Germany who can find one for you over there and ship it to you. My ex is still there, but I'm not speaking to him so I can't help you there :-)

Damn. That sucks dude. What it is, your key has a computer chip inside of it, so that no other key can start your engine. The chip inside your engine will only match to that same chip in the key. If you lose that key, you have to go to a dealership to get a replacement, (which might be hard to do if you have no key) lol. That really does suck man...I hope you can find a cheaper one. I am almost positive you can get it cheaper than 300 bux tho. DO NOT just pay the man, shop around. Trust me. It will be worth it.

Well, guess what, you want to play, you've got to pay. I know this for a fact I myself own a BM, and 2 Vettes, luckily for me I'm a fourth generation mechanic, and have oil in my veins instead of blood. You need to realize that some of these import cars are very expensive to fix, and the more toys, the more expensive.
