My husband ( a white man)'s good friend asked why are some black people so loud. Myself, being a black female slapped him in the back of the head and pointed to myself, he then replied, "well not you but you know." I thought this was funny, so I replied, black people aren't loud...white people just can't hear that well. Which isn't true, but I was just being funny towards a crazy question.

Kinda like this one. I think you're overall goal is to correct people of stereotypes to sort of clear the air.... but you're about to open up a big can of worms lol But honestly, people, let's not get upset over the questions or answers. They're just words. Find some way to humor yourselves with it. Like he states, if it hurts your feelings, just ignore it. But if you can handle it like a mature person, then ask or answer to the best of your ability. <3

I am white woman and every morning I go to the same store and get my coffee and all different types of people come in and the people who are older (I am not that old, not 21 but not over 35) we all say hi and good morning and it would seem like peace is in the valley. I would attribute this to maturing. There is a difference between someone who is 18 and someone who is 30 walking into a store or even a party. With age comes more confidence but also a dash of not giving a damn. When people are younger they are more concerned with what they think other people are thinking and hopefully as you get older you realize there is nothing you can do to stop people from saying what they want and you can't read there minds. A lot of this comes from how our society likes to label people. Next thing you know you are looking at some one and you have already sized them up and think you know how they feel about you when all they are probably thinking is what to make for dinner.
I would think these white girls you have met or not have met are possibly shy.( Far fetched, yes) I have no idea, I can't read there minds but as far as the girls bumping and grinding at parties and kissing, it could be a ton of reasons. One, they want guys to get all hot and bothered, Second theory is they are drunk. Third, they want attention. Unless you ask them you will never know the real reason and even then you might not get a truthful answer.

Even though I have no close friends that are black I do know some black people and we are comfortable enough with each other to discuss the differences between blacks and whites and we agree that it is how you are treated by each person you come in contact with that matters. Also, I have friends who are gay and when I was younger I use to have a lot of questions, like why do some gay men sound feminine? and why do some gay women look and dress like men? and it was never meant in a mean way it was just a question. I never got a good answer not even from my gay friends. That is when I gave up and thought people are all different (even within there own race) and we come up with stereotypes to make ourselves feel safe because we can't figure out why people do what they do.
So if we put a big label on people say for example black guys, and say "Black guys who carry beepers( I mean cell phones)
( I'm showing my age) are drug dealers. This is not true because there are a ton of drug dealers where I live and they were all white! But people like to label other people because it makes them feel safe. Are there black guys with cell phones that deal drugs? Sure, Do all of them? Of course not! Not all priests are child molesters and not all cops are crooked. Just like not all white people are bad dancers and not all black people eat watermelon. (oh there you go, who ever came up with the watermelon stereotype?) All the white people I know eat chicken and I know some pretty good dancers who are white. In the end If someone is nice to me I'm nice back and if your a jerk i won't have anything to do with the person. You got me thinking that is for sure, great question. Sorry the answer couldn't have been shorter.

All your doing is generalizing. And your question is going to make most of the responders generalize too.. Not all white girls dance on each other just a few do, It might not as common at most black clubs, so we're just not used to it, - Most of the white girls I know aren't scared of black man either... Some white Women are scared because of the social stigma that all black man are criminals and thugs, when that's not even close to being true. The majority of people convicted of crimes are black males, but that doesn't mean that most crimes are actually committed by black man, And that's also not to say that its impossible for a justice system that is dominated by only one group to be unequal. Just like- anyone that knows anything about drug use, knows that the majority of drug users are white, but if you watch enough TV, you'll think that its mostly Hispanic or black people. Or like when people think of welfare, they think a single black mother or something, but the stats show otherwise. I see many stupid things that white people do on TV, but that doesn't mean that I'm going to generalize that they all are like that. The ones I know aren't. Not all Asians are geniuses, not all Mexicans are illegal, or pile up 10 deep in a car. I have more in common with the white people in my region, than than some of the black people I've met from the South,, Generalizations are ridiculous.

Generalizing is not a very sociable thing to do. Where I grow up "blacks" weren't even here until the late 1990's and then no-one knew what the hack to do... but I have found SOME are the nicest people in the world.. just like SOME White's are whores or crack addicts.... Human beings are just that, imperfect people made by a being named God who gave his Perfect Creations freewill.
If I was so afraid to look at you I certainly would not be typing to you right now.. generalizing is a stupid topic.

as a white girl ... i look at white guys and shy away from saying hello just as much as i look at black guys and shy away from saying hello to them. for different reasons? i'd hope not.
to be honest, i didn't grow up around any other people besides white people (for the most part) so what i know of black guys is mostly just an ignorant stereotype ... do i think black guys are more dangerous or whatever ... deep down, no i don't, but that's what i've in essence been taught ... but i def. reject the view that i have been taught ... besides ... here's another stereotype i have ... black guys are usually much more gorgeous than white guys, or any other guys for that matter ...

as for the white girls ... i have no idea ...

here's something that really bothers me and maybe someone can shed some light on it ... every time i fill out some sort of questionaire, whether for college or the government, i have to check what my race is ...
i'm confused as to why for black people it's african-american and for white people it's white, and sometimes caucasion ... i don't think i've ever seen one that said black as a choice... but all this frustrates me anyway ... because i'm really not white and black people really aren't black and what does caucasion even mean? and what are black people in France called? african-french? african-american seems so politically incorrect to me, but maybe there's something behind it that i'm not really aware of ... which could very well be the case :)

Wow Hailygrace took the words out of my mouth. I have been saying the same thing for a while now. We do have whites and then we have white trash. You have blacks and then there is black trash. Same for Mexicans. Haven't dealt much with any other races. Can't stand a Thug, Liar, rude people, or many other ignorant traits. The sad thing is that some of you ( Thugs that is) don't even see what you do or how you act as wrong. Kill the thugs and leave the decent people no matter their color.

it quite is the assumption technique, that progressively insists upon making judgements. we could be taught to exhibit screen our techniques. as quickly as we are useful that we are able to 'observe' our concept technique (without turning that fact into yet yet another concept), we are able to take the subsequent step. That fact is basically approximately like a mute witness. Then, we avert the pointless connection with the memory. this could require some extra sustained practice. some thing that would help is observing the breath additionally, concurrently. No situation, if we ensue to finally end up purely observing our breath. It does no longer final too long besides! Then the processor interior of might develop right into slightly extra alert, and the analytical techniques might deepen by itself, and we are able to even sense that we don't 'brush aside' summarily or unexpectedly. Deep respiration at cases might additionally help to assemble oneself, and wreck the assumption-continuity. If we've sufficient endurance, something might save on with. If we are too wanting to try this, please attempt breath observing on an identical time as using a motor vehicle (to initiate with in a much less crowded or much less risky highway). the outcomes are basically approximately magnified slightly exceedingly. terrific desires.

First of all, go back to grade school and learn some proper grammar. Second of all, take a second to think on your questions.

Not to be racist AT ALL, but a great majority of criminals are black males. Not ALL, but a great majority. This has become a stereotype. Therefore a lot of white women (especially the elderly who are stuck in their redundant ways) are afraid of black men. I have a few black friends myself, and I can say that a majority of the black people I have met were so ignorant I wouldn't have said anything more than "hello" to them. It's just like any other race. There's no difference. You have white trash, and then you have decent white people. You have your stereotypical black male from the hood who thinks he's some sort of hot thug or whatever and then you have decent black folk. The same can be said for any race. It's not just black and white.

Intolerance of any race, gender, sexuality, or ethnicity is usually caused from IGNORANCE.
