Since you probably don't even have the product key--you can't "start all over". You can, however, purchase a new Windows XP from Newegg.com or zipzoomfly.com. They are both wonderful retailers.

Once you do purchase a new Windows XP, merely insert the disc, restart the computer, and boot from it. Instead of doing a repair, select a "clean" installation. It should be on the C: drive, or wherever the current XP is installed. Just make sure to wipe out the old or you will essentially be doing a "dual-boot" of the same OS.

Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you the original cd. Be sure to have your model and serial number handy. In most cases they will replace it free of charge.
