no, i tried this. you need Itunes, You can downlosd songs off of LimeWire if you don't want to pay for them, and then transfer them onto iTunes. If it's not in the iTunes library, you can't put it on your iPod.

if its an actual apple ipod, no... you need itunes (there should be a cd that came with the ipod... its on there and it will be the version you need if you have an ipod video or nano...)
