If your car is a front wheel drive model, absolutely yes. Unless you really like being passed by the rear of your car. This happens because the lighter rear end loses traction. Most, if not all, tire shops will only do all 4 due to liability reasons. If you have a rear wheel drive, the rear tires are most important although it's nice to have tractionb on the steering tires. Usually best to get all 4 even if you have a rear wheel drive. I look at it as cheap insurance. Front and rear wheel drive cars differ greatly in the way they perform particularly on slick roads. Both have their positives and negatives. I have a preference, but so does everyone else.

Dont buy any snow tires at all.Just buy the right tire.I am a auto mechance for the past 20 years and have found this out.I use to waste my money on snow tires and even had thenm studded only too find out that the right all season tire even preformed better then them.Years ago I would never belived this but I found on my own that a soft compound tire works very well in snow and on ice even better then my studded snows did.I personally prefer good year soft compound tires. The only down fall is the dont last as long but the are a much better preformer.Hard compound tires(all season that is) are very bad in the snow and ice and give all seasons a bad name.Stay clear of Firestone and Michalin.Thay are hard and are on all those 4 whell vehicles who think they can go any where and are in the ditch all the time.I am now on my 4ths set of good year wranglers for my truck and pass those others by easlly laughing.I have yet to find ant snow that hold the road as well.Trust me buy a set of good year all season tires making sure they are soft compound what ever brand you choose.Hard compound tire last much longer and are the high milage tires everone wants till it snows.Buy a set you wont be dissapointed,I promise!

it depends. Is it a front wheel drive car? IF yes, then just get the front two. If it's rear wheel drive get all 4.
The front tires do 75% of the braking and all of the turning.. so the only question is which wheels are powered by the engine? If your car is Front wheel drive, the back wheels are really only there so the car doesnt drag itself around. they do nothing. IF it's rear wheel drive you will need traction all around.

It does not matter if you have a 2 or 4 whell drive. Always put 4 snow tires on. Studs are at your own discretion.
