50 cc's or less. Max speed allowed is 35 mps, but no one really watches. I recommend a bright Orange hunters vest. And a helmet. Your riding something more dangerous than a bicycle or motorcycle because your slow and almost invisible.

*scooters with more than 50 cc's require a motercycle endorsement on your driver's license.

That would be the 600 to 650 cc touring scooters. These include the Honda Silverwing, Yamaha Majesty, and Suzuki Bergman. Any one of these will require a motorcycle license in virtually all states, and full motorcycle gear (helmet, jacket, etc.) would be a good idea too.

All scooters are street legal (IF REGISTERED), and then there are the moped class ones that do not have to be registered, usually 50cc or less and depending on state regs. Currently the biggest sold is a Suzuki Bergman which is 650cc
