The only experiences I've had with downloading viruses from Limewire was while trying to download programs and software.

Any file that you download to your computer from the internet has the potential to contain a virus. It would behoove you to install a quality anti-virus program on your computer. Mcafee and Norton are a couple. I have downloaded viruses from limewire but it is rare for me to. Just be careful.

99% of their music is safe. i have not had any problems there. i tried downloading some software and literally every program i downloaded had a virus. Norton caught it every time before opened the file though.

i have downloaded thousands of songs for my ipod without any viruses. go for it
