I don't think humans are innately good or evil. I believe their good or evil tendencies are learned from birth on. Now, that brings up a thought; if everyone learned good or evil tendencies from each other, where did it start, what about the first person? This is where instinct comes in, which is devoid of good or evil. As each of the early people fights for survival, they may interpret each other as evil, as they may defend against one another for survival.

As to your second question first: It depends entirely on
whether you're talking about individuals or the whole race.
Individuals are certainly a complex mixture of both good
and evil; some of it we can control and encourage and
modify (to varying degrees, of course), and some of it we
can't. The race as a whole, however, is another matter.
It's very difficult to say if the race as a whole tends more
toward good, or more toward evil. I tend to think of the
race in general as neither good or evil. It just is what it is
(namely, a very young sentient species with some small
potential). It is like any other mindless elemental force:
thunder, fire, fields of wheat, etc. Of course, we *could*
always improve the species; if only we treated it with the
same care and attention that a horse breeder shows his
horses!
.
As to your first question: Now this ? is a bit trickier. It is
altogether a different sort of question than the second ?.
(btw: If you answerers out there can't see the distinction
I am referring to, then you really aren't equipped to deal
with a question like this.) Actually, there's really no easy
answer to this question. You have to bear in mind that the
species is still very young, so it may simply be too early
to come to any definite conclusions. You also have to
bear in mind that for most of our one million years
history, our ancestors were predators (ie. what
anthropologists call 'hunters and killers').
.
Of course, it's not politically correct to mention such
things in polite society, but there it is all the same. This is
not to say that they were all vicious and sadistic brutes;
they only did what they had to in order to survive. So
there's that; but there's also the fact that our more recent
ancestors did commit genocide upon it's blood brothers
the Neanderthals. So there's *that* too. Well, the
prospects are looking rather bleak now, aren't they? ...
.
But there is still some place for hope. The main reason
that so many people are no longer "killers" is chiefly due
to one thing: civilization. Without civilization we would
have no history. And without history we would be utterly
ignorant about who we really are; and completely at the
mercy of priests and any other charlatans with a tall tale
to sell.
.
Anyway, the point is that a careful study of the history
of civilizations shows very clearly that the process of
rationalization is the thread that binds all of earth's
multi-cultural history together. As these civilizations
advanced through time they tended to get less and less
bloody and sadistic. And this is true despite the fact that
war is always the favorite pastime of many. In sum, while
the evidence is as yet inconclusive, there yet remains
some small room for hope.

i do no longer think of people are innately sturdy or evil yet quite packed with instinct from the 2d of beginning and taught morals as they advance up. i've got self assurance it quite is a wakeful decision between people to be evil or sturdy. keeping in techniques that what we define as sturdy and evil is set by todays society and what society believes to be sturdy/evil won't be the comparable as our instincts. I as quickly as had to place in writing an identical essay to this promoting the concept people have been innately evil in severe college and that i wrote this as an occasion: "in case you positioned a cookie jar in front of a youngster and tell him to no longer touch it he will 9 cases out of 10 touch the cookie jar." i understand now inspite of the undeniable fact that that this does not recommend the youngster replaced into evil yet has no longer been taught ideal or incorrect and for this reason observed no outcomes of their movements. To be quite uncomplicated i think of people who say people are innately evil try to justify why human beings do undesirable issues the place relatively the reason they probable do those issues is by way of the fact they havent been taught in any different case or they have made the wakeful determination themselves to achieve this. the two way thats my opinion.

Whenever I attempt to answer someone's question I never say I think.
I believe that humans are born both selfish and greedy. Babies do not care about anyone other than themselves. There is nothing wrong with this. It is the survival instinct that is in all of us.
As we get older we are influenced by our environment and by our parents and peers.
In some cases this ameliates the selfishness and greediness and in other cases it does not.
Therefore in answer to the question; human nature is innatelt neither.

I do not think humans are innately good or innately bad. They are social beings; society impose its ideas of good or bad on people.

nowadays the term of Good is equal to Lovable or Agreeable or Bend-able or Bribe-able.
For my explanation I would stick with "Good" which means ... "Good"... :D
Human nature is carnal, corrupt, bad, etc. There is no one who does good. Not one. (Ecclesiastes 7:20, Romans 3:23) The ONLY things we are Good at are; making our own idols to be worshipped, satisfying our own lusts, rebelling/rejecting God.
Is there anyone on earth who hasn't broken the 10 commandment? You need to lie only once to become a liar. You need to stole once to become a thief. The Bible says whoever look lustfully at other already committed adultery in her heart. You need to blaspheme God once to become God's Blasphemer. Suppose we say "Well, I've broken only 3 and a half out of 10, I'm still Good then?". No!. If we stumble upon one, we are accountable for all (James 2:10).
If God judges us on that day based on these 10, on our own, surely we are on one-way trip to Hell. Because He is a Good Judge, He upholds His law. Praise God that He is also a Good God, that He sent His only beloved son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross for sinners so that whoever believes in Him would find salvation in His name.
Well, so, the short answer to your question; Humans are innately corrupt, the only things that humans good at is rebelling against God.

There is no inate, only humans can answer this question, so the answer is ambiguous. If according to my dog, they had oppossible thumbs and an ear for human language we may get a true answer from an impartial source. Human nature is unnatural I believe, and also mostly inhumane..

Master Socrates, haven't you already answered this question before? :-)
Seriously, I don't think human beings are inately anything. It is not what we are inside that defines us, but it is the actions and choices that we make. And most of us- check that- all of us have sometimes done something good and sometimes have done something bad.
And then of course, if someone were to answer your question, he would have to define good or bad. That would be next to impossible. They'll have to write a book.
