Are the planes x+3y-z=2 and 3x-y=11 perpendicular?Explain.

The normals are (1,3,-1) and (3,-1,0) respectively. The dot product of those is 1*3 + 3*-1 + -1*0 = 0. So yes, they are perpendicular.
