ok, well, my computer was going a little slow. So my sister's friend came to fix it, and reset my internet connection, and everything.

So, now, sometimes it goes really fast, and other's it goes very slow. I have done Webroot Spy Sweeper, and Norton Anit-Virus checks every other day, and it never tells me I have a virus. I visit many web pages, including Myspace each day. I always clear my internet history, so it will not go slow. I also deleted ALL my pictures off "my Pictures"

I have tried (I think) EVERYTHING! So, what else is there? Do I have a virus, and how do I know for sure.

Please help! Sorry it was so long.

Thank you so much :]

I don't believe that the cause is a virus. I consider Nortons to be the very worse garbage anti virus program in the world for finding and removeing a virus.

Nortons and Webroot Spy Sweeper is your problem. They are both resource hogs, especially Nortons will eat up all of your memory.

Use your keyboard and press down on "ctrl", "alt", "delete" and your task manager will open. Click on "processes and look down the list of running programs and you will see how much memory is being used by each process. I am quite sure that you will see Nortons taking the bulk of your memory and this is the cause of your system running slow.

Sorry that you purhcased Nortons as you may find that you will have to get rid of Nortons. (If you do here is a free excellent program from AOL, powered by Kasperskey Lab, Russia. Considered #1 in the world for antivirus detection.

Sounds like you may have several downloads on at the same time. Or too many programs open at the same time while downloading from the internet.
One should do a disk cleanup everyday and defrag two or three times a week if the computer is used moderately. Try this.
You may need to do a Disk Cleanup..and be sure you have all the boxes checked....
Defrafg your C drive or what ever is your
main harddrive... Make sure you have selected the C Drive.... This is called a Disk Defragmenter...
Go to : Start...
programs..
accessories...
system tools..
Do this often...

Hi okay!
by the way you explained all of it -it sounds like you don't have a virus.
if so when you run the virus checker and it says found virus, tell it to clean it or delete it.

And Also, you dont have to delete your broswer history everytime you go to a site...........

And do the disk cleanup..you can locate it when you click on a hardrive and under properties.
and it will clean your computer.

MAKE SURE ALL BOXES ARE CHECKED WHEN YOU PERFORM THE CLEAN UP.

This will help alot.

goodluck..

and no im not a computer expert.

You probably have moe spyware and viruses on you PC than you know what to do with.

Backup all you important stuff to CDs, such as pics, document files, favorites, music, and videos.

Then restore the computer to it original configuration ehn it came off the factory floor. There are many different eays to do this, depending on what brand of PC yo have. If you are not comfiortable with doing that, take it to your local computer shop, and have them do it for you.
