They always say, conservatives don't understand, or they are too ignorant to understand, but yet, I have only witnessed a few good points made by liberals, ever. And they continue to just say conservatives are dumb and stupid, but yet, they don't even know what the heck they are talking about

In2310, another point right there! You are now bragging about what you do everyday. Who the heck cares? By doing such, it implies that you believe that since you are "educated" that must mean you are smarter then everyone else.

I have never met a wise man that thought he was wise

That last part was from Socrates, guess what? I read that from a book.

I have to ask this person what books he has read? I read at least 2 papers a day and two or three books a week. I am almost finished with a PhD in economics so I understand economic theory and policy but the only response I ever get from a so called conservative about economic issues is a talking point delivered by Limbaugh. A conservative cannot even explain what the definition of a conservative is or the names of any influential conservative thinkers. They claim a label they do not even understand.

This is what I wrote in response to a “conservatives” assertion that Bush has had a better economic policy than Clinton.

The Republicans claim the economy is operating on overdrive and the proof they use to justify their absurd claims, the Dow is at record highs. Why don’t the Democrats respond and tell Americans the truth about the incompetent economic policy of Bush and his cadre. The Bush administration is not concerned with the prosperity of any Americans other than themselves and those that donate to preserve their power.

Bush praises the performance of the Dow, it has broken its all time high, he is proud of 5 record closings during his entire 6 years in office that is an average of 1.2 a year. I wonder what he would do if his performance equaled that of Clinton. Would he claim he deserved the noble prize in economics if he ruled over 277 record breaking days; this is what Clinton accomplished. Clinton averaged 34.63 record days a year. Clinton 277 Bush 5, how can the press and the Democrats let him get away with his miserable performance?

On January, 20 1993, the Dow Industrial Average was 3,241.95 on January 20, 2001 it was 10,587.24. The Dow increased by 7345.29 points, it grew 226.57% during the Clinton years. That is 28.32% per year.

The Dow, when Bush took office it was 10578.24 and today it is 11,950.02. It has gone up by only 13% in 6 years. That is an average of 2.17% a year. A 2.17% growth rate is pitiful and it is embarrassing when compared to his predecessor. 226.57% to 13%, the Dow needs to climb to 23,987.51 in the next 27 months if Bush is to have the same rate of growth as Clinton. That is an average increase of 447 points per month.

The President’s lackeys constantly ridicule the Clinton Administration and claims he is doing a better job, as though it is a competition he is trying to win. 277 to 5 or 226.57% to 13%, I wonder who will win this competition? If the Dow breaks another record, I wonder if at the next press conference we will hear, We Are the Champions, emanating from speakers as the Decider looks into the camera, holds up his index finder, and yells, “Republicans are number one.”

There was no response because it is difficult to argue with facts when the other person relies on talking points. I am sure you did not read the quote posted from a book but it was likely found by googleing “wise quote”

I am wiser than no person who seeks the truth.

I did not read this I wrote it.

I'm extremely to the left, and I have never said that conservatives dont understand. I don't really care if you don't understand liberals. This is what I think... once you label someone or yourself as "liberal" or "conservative" you already know that that person is not going to change their mind. I get really tired of all the "crack smoking, white trash, ignorant liberals who have 10 kids or 10 abortions or whichever it is" I don't smoke crack, I am not white trash, I dont have 10 kids and havent had 10 abortions, and I am not on welfare or a proponent of welfare and I don't live in a trailer. No matter what you conservatives say, it is not going to change my opinion on war, the "war on terrorism" abortion, and the other things that we all disagree on.

I've noticed on here that what liberals accuse conservatives of "narrow mindedness, dishonesty, self centeredness, etc." are the same things that conservatives are accusing liberals of. It's very interesting because I really don't see the liberals that I know as being dishonest, crack addicted, trailer trash, and following our leaders (what leaders???) blindly. I really do see that as a conservative trait, but on here I've seen liberals accused of the same thing. Interesting, huh?

The way I see it, liberals are interested in people and society. Conservatives care about people as long as things stay the same & money. Am I right? The attitude seems to be that if someone is disabled, uneducated, poor or homeless, it's their own fault, right? And most seem to agree that hurricane Katrina happened because of natural selection, so that there will be less of "them" and we still have the status quo.

I've read answers on here about families and people struggling around the world, children going hungry. Some of the answers I've seen on here have appalled me. "I feel bad for them but I take care of my own first" Until people realize that they are all our children, then nothing will change.

And perhaps the extreme left can become a little more conservative if the extreme right can move toward the center.

specific, I understand the two liberal and conservative perspectives, Democrat and Republican ideology, ideal wing and left wing questioning. i for my area think of that the real changes ensue once you start to evaluate who you help and the movements that they are taking, which shows what you relatively have self assurance! If the President runs as a conservative republican and says that he desires to hold all human beings mutually as a results of fact the rustic seems to be divided throughout the time of his inaugural speech, then contraptions out to divide human beings on each undertaking which you will think of of: Race, Economics, Sexuality, education, well being Care, clinical learn, Morality, Politics, international family, criminal subject concerns, faith, loose Speech, and Patriotism, without duty or duty. then you definately start up see the changes extra of course in an empirical experience, and start to make certain extra undesirable than sturdy in what He( The President) and his unyielding supporter's say is terrific for the rustic and it quite is distinctive human beings. you may't basically represent the hobbies of the rich, White, Conservative, Pseudo- Christian, Male, and declare to represent what's terrific for all of united statesa.!

If liberals actually had some facts and some truths to tell, they wouldn't have to resort to calling conservatives stupid and ignorant. Name calling deflects attention away from the reality that most liberal beliefs are based on fantasy.

oh... I've never heard "liberalism is a mental disorder" or "liberals are stupid" said on this site... oh no... not ever...

the simple fact is... it seems that about 75 percent of the people on here on both sides are either 12 years old, or operate mentally at a 12-year-old level....

what you are talking about constantly happens on both sides and both sides seems like they would rather call each other stupid than talk about facts or the issues...

Somehow, that (& other) answers brings to mind something about pots & kettles. Those who can't rely on logic tend to resort to ad hominem attacks. There is also a great popularity in the technique of accusing ones opponents of using the very tactics that one is actually using. I guess it diverts attention from the truth.

Most Republicans are too busy getting rich to take the time to study things other than business and liberals spend their lives studying everything under the sun. So liberals call republicans dumb because they are jealous that they aren't making all that money.

Not a question, dude. Just because you put a question mark after a sentence doesn't make it a question. I will refrain from commenting on what this might tell us about your intellegence. At least that person knew how to frame a question.
