As i was about to read my novel about Queen Elizabeth I. I noticed "robin" dudley in the desciption on the back of the book. I thought Elizabeth had romantic links with Robert, not Robin. Could someone please explain ?

Robert Dudley was Elizabeths secret lover. Robin is another name that they gave him. It was her secret name for him,kind of a name of affection. Well not quite alot of people used it,but yes it's the same person.

Actually if you are reading the one that I think you are reading, she calls him both Robert and Robin. Causing you basically to think they are two different men.
Same guy, different names. If you watch Elizabeth the Movie - He is robert, as well as in many different historical references. Then when you check online he is known as Robin. Robert was his Christian name.
