Although technically it would be illegal for them to have sex with you, I HIGHLY doubt anyone would try to enforce the law in this case because you're only a few months apart.

In any case, you're the minor so your partner is assuming all the risk if you decide to have sex.

To answer your original question, there would be no legal issues with you simply dating someone 18 or older.

I don't think "date" is a legal term, so you shouldn't have any problems there. There are different laws from state to state as far as sex and traveling out of state with an older person though. Things to consider.

Hope that helps.

No, it may be different where you live but in Washington State you can go out with them just as long as your not four years younger...but no police officer really looks for that unless its a guy over 25 and is a pervert and if they do they cant necessaryily do anything bout it they have bigger cases to deal with.

nope, the deal is anyone under 18 has to be within 5 years of age of their partner that is 18 years or older.

but, I do think this varies in different states other than colorado.

it only becomes an issue if you have sex at 17 you should be fine, .. most states you are.. I would double check with your state laws to make sure.. but most states the age of consent is usually 17

Date is fine.
Sex is fine in most states as well, most states have exception to statutory rap laws for people whose age difference is less then 2 years.
Check your local state law.

Depends if you equate dating with sex. The latter will be illegal, yes.

Dating isn't illegal. But sex and all sexual contact would be considered sexual assault of a minor.
