I'm straight but really like wearing cool shoes, like leather cowboy boots. Somebody told me this makes me seem gay, but I think I should be able to wear whatever I want. However, I also don't want to send the wrong message....what do you think?

I think wear what you want. No matter what people are going to stereotype you based on your appearance, and I guarantee that no matter what not all of those stereotypes are going to be good. Just do what you want and learn to ignore ignorant people.

Maybe it is not the boots but the way you walk in the boots? I've never heard of a "straight" man having a problem wearing boots. Bikers wear boots. Country cowboys wear boots. Guys and gals wear boots when they go square dancing. Go to any bar, you'll find at least 5 guys wearing boots.

You'll only appear gay if the heels are too high. Then you'll walk pigeon toed and lean a bit to the left. Of course you must keep the shade of pink on the subtle side, and always wear chaps with something underneath. Stupid, if you're so afraid of looking gay because of cowboy boots, you may need to rethink your entire fashion sense. Apparently that is the only sense you have.

I've been wearing cowboy boots all my life and trust me, there is nothing gay about me.Pick your footwear according to what you like not what other people think. It was cool to be a cowboy long before it became cool to be gay.

it depends on where you live. some places (like texas, arizona, new mexico) it's fine. however, other places (san fransisco, new york city, atlanta) cowboy boots or fancy footwear can send the wrong message.
However, that being said, wear whatever the hell you want and feel comfortable in and scew whoever has an issue (figurativley, not literally).

yes, as long as you don't paint your nails.jk. in the hispanic community, but specific mexicans, wearing boots is a masculin thing, and also help you pick up on hot chicks, depending on type of boots. i personally have ostrich boots, which are worth about 200 usd.

Depends on what part of the country your in. In Texas women find that to be hot looking on a man.That's what my friend Carol says...
I know I like men in cowboy boots. I think it's hot... Especially a cowboy hat... WOOF!!!
