If it's not your own, it's illegal. You need to know the key code.

Yours or somebody else's?

All in all, you need:

o A (wired) Internet connection
o A wireless router, to broadcast the internet connection
o A computer with a wireless interface, to talk to the router.

If the router is not yours, you may have problems with the encryption settings.

You would need wireless capabilities on your laptop or desktop first. If it is an open network you can just simply view the network and choose Connect. If there is encryption, WEP or WPA, you would need the encryption key or passphrase for the AP.
