I'd have to say DD is the only one here who really exemplifies metal, but you can't choose the guy over Cliff Burton or Tony Iomi ... you just can't.
When Cliff died, it became clear that the biggest band in the 80's owed him their leather. I'm not saying Justice was bad - he did have a part in it after all - but the title song was too long anyway.
As for Tony - anyone who loses their FINGERTIPS at work the night before becoming ... well ... Tony Iomi, the guy who made Ozzy famous, and STILL becomes one ofthe greatest - a guy who 30 years later STILL fkn jams like he does and never died in a bottle of booze... well ...
Tony gets the crown, not that he'd wear it cause crowns are for sissies, but he gets it. Without him, there would be no 80's metal. There would be no Slayer or Pantera. There sure as hell wouldn't be a Ricky Ratman, a Headbangers' Ball, a reason to abolish the hair bands, or Linkin Park either (shut up they're good!).
