engineered seeds produce bigger crops. Take seed corn for example it makes larger ears and more kernels per ear. it also can shortin or lengthen the time span between planting and harvest. I think a better question would be is it healthy for us to be eating genetically engineered food

relies upon on what you recommend via "extra suitable for farmers" in some approaches people might think of they're extra suitable because of the fact they're extra tollerant of detrimental climate or illness yet maximum of those engineered seeds are Patented.. which ability the farmer has to purchase them from someplace and can't sell them to different farmers.. some seeds produce flowers that are sterile consequently they tension the farmer to purchase and purchase three hundred and sixty 5 days after three hundred and sixty 5 days from the patent holder (the guy who created the seed) it fairly is a topic because of the fact if ultimately all farms swap to engineered seeds then the patent holder can strengthen the fee of the seed as much as he needs.. forcing the farmer to pay extra and at last the shopper pays extra.... the engineered seeds are often made sterile supposedly so the plant won't be able to "invade" the areas of organic forage yet fairly they're made sterile so the farmer is dependant on the seed producer... to that end genetically engineered seeds are EVIL

Well if a farmer had a choice between a crop that will grow even in drought conditions because it's genetically engineered (think of all the poor drought stricken farmers in Africa) don't you think he'd want some of that? If genetically engineered crops don't need as much fertilizer to grow, causing much less environmental damage, wouldn't both farmers who save money on fertilizer & environmentalists love that as well?

NO.... it's a plot to eventually control the food supplies... don't believe it? look up terminator seeds and Monsanto , and then tell me what possible reason other than that there could be..
PS... there are no long term tests to know what the effect on humans will be,
has anyone here ever seen the video's from the 50's of DOW spraying DDT (gent orange) on unsuspecting picnickers?
this same conversation went on then...
better living through chemistry?... not!
all of the things that the gentleman above me mentioned in regards to water, and fertilizer can be compensated for in other ways.. that's the false argument of the companies that want control over the food supply,

My understanding is that they are. Now tell me what this has to do with politics. Wouldn't it be better suited to agriculture or botany?
