Only those that enjoy them can really know to them what makes them "special". What bond is formed with a horse can be shared with any animal/pet and that is what makes that pet special to that human/owner.
Horses to me have just always been something I have loved and enjoyed. Being able to ride and control this 1000 pound plus beast like putty in your hands is something special. It takes a light nudge of your leg or a gentle rub of the rein on their neck and this horse is turning at your command!
But one also has to remember to respect the power as well as the beauty of the Equine. No doubt that these animals have the power to hurt or kill if you lack the respect around them.

My horses (I currently have 4) are special because they are my babies, they are waiting at the fence first thing in the morning but that may be because of the feed lol and they are my way to experience parts of the country that u can not see by driving in a car.....

i do not know but i have loved them all my life. when i dont have one, like now, my heart just yearns for one in my life.
they are terribly expensive to board, and keep up.
I hope before i get too old to ride, that I can get one again.
they are a special personality from other animals.
they are so smart.
they are ornery.
they can be so much fun. and we can do so many things with a horse to have fun with them.
they love you in return like no other animal I have ever owned. except maybe a dog.
horses are truely a very special animal.

Are you kidding? It's something that can't be explained, but unless you've been at a certain level with a horse, you wouldn't understand.

i have a horse and he is ssooo special to me. They bond with you into a relationship. They are amazing a zebra or giraffe would not let you ride it. They are so lovely they put their heart and soul into you and let you have their trust.

Well, among other things, they actually know when they've won a race, they know their names, they are very spirited, have graciously allowed themselves to carry loads and have people ride them, and are very beautiful creatures.
