Life experiences are always a good source of ideas, you can then expand them..what if this happened another way..what if I never met this person...what if I had this power..etc
That way you can make simple everyday things seem more interesting, if you yourself do not find them that way...stories that I can associate with reality always appealed to me..

All the time,.. but I keep them to myself because people are too slow to understand things (so how would I spread 5 Paragraphs to help people understand things over one comic book,.. it would suck) and people like to profit from me and run (so they'd have the rights and the money and I'd be left with nothing but the loss of some characters I've had in my head for years over over a decade).
It's no win for me.

maybe a story about a kid that slowly discovers his powers.he grows up to a teen, then he finds someone else with powers.they meet rufus,another person with powers.he wants to destroy their world.they fight him to save the world.
