electric heaters use radiant heat strips, a halogen use heat resistance coils and reflection for heat. electric has a fan were halogen is reflective, i like the electric heats faster and the heat is hotter, less energy cost, good luck and stay warm!

I like electric heaters, but some of them make a rattling noise from vibrating parts. My "utility heater" (or "milkhouse heater") doesn't rattle, but it's not quite as warm as a common electric heater. Still, it's real quiet so I like it a lot.

not really that much of a differance...either one wastes lots of energy
