Often in life we are asked the queston. "What would you do differently in your own life if you could do things over again?"

The majority of respondents say they would change nothing.

We are who we are by our past. The same goes for the world. Would someone have stopped the extinction of the dinosaurs? Well if they had, would we be here at all? Not likely.

Life is made of good and bad experiences. It helps us as individuals to strive to become better people. We advance by our past, and yes in some cases, we regress.

The same for the World in this context. Every event in history has had consequences, good and bad. Each event has been a catalyst to something else, be it good or evil.

There are many events I would be tempted to change, but ultimately I would leave things alone. We are the product of our past, and we are the future all at the same time.

You wouldn't dare change a thing in history, the consequences would be monumental and potentially catastrophic. Consider the following:

What if you went back to kill Hitler when he was a baby, a very riteous move it would appear on the surface. But....with Hitler gone, Ernst Roehm takes over as Chancellor in 1933, and HE decides to commit national resources to the development of an A-bomb. By 1939, one is completed and he successfully conquers Mother Russian, eliminates European Jewry and enslaves half the planet.

Way to go!!!. because of your meddling in the space time continuum, you made history a lot worse.

I would of stopped saint peter from reaching rome thereby stopping him becoming the first pope and creating the first church.
Just think of all the lies, corruption and hypocrisy it has caused let alone all the wars fought in its name and lives lost. Things like the crusades and the inquisition. The persecution of so called heretics and anyone else who deviates from their teaching. Then there's the aggressive conversions of tribal groups and other cultures, witch trials and burnings. The sexism, the sex scandals and the vast amounts of money in church coffers while all around peasants starved.
Anyway you get the point.
Organised religion should not be allowed, let each person find it within themselves and the world would be a much more peaceful place

I myself would have tried to help the Aztecs repel the Spaniards. Perhaps the misery inflicted on the first nations by our ancestors would not have happened? Just a guess on my part. My next option would have been to find and assassinate Adolph Hitler before he came to power in Germany.

Way too dangerous to change anything. What is meant to happen will happen. Change one little thing and with the "snowball effect", things could be so bad you wished it was the way before. It's a nice thought to want to change the past to improve the future.

The developement of nuclear weapons would NEVER happen, period. The world could exist without nuclear power, it would just have to find other sources and by now things like solar, geothermal or wind and tidal current turbines would have progressed much further.

I would have strangled Hitler at birth but sometimes think George W Bush is just as bad as he seems to be on a bit of a power trip
