punk, I'm not a teacher or a student. I'm a school nurse. And I was just looking for ideas. Thank you for your very intelligent answer.

I think it would be cute to do a beautiful Christmas tree and use medical supplies as ornaments. Try cotton balls dusted with glitter, tongue depressors with reindeer antlers and googly eyes, etc. then poke tiny holes all over the tree and run the lights underneath and poke just the lights through the holes so that you don't see any wire. On top of the tree you could put a nurse angel. I bet whatever you do will be too cute! I'm a RN that has always wanted to be a school nurse. Lucky you!

Try using green flat foam sheets and cut out a wreath pattern. Use something small and round to cut out holes in the wreath and then place the kid's photos in the whole glue them to the back. Decorate around the photos w/ glitter or ribbon. Make a big red bow to hang it from and you will have one cute door. Good Luck and i hope you win!

we used to decorate our doors and doorways at my middle school each year too....try making it look like a gingerbreadhouse, or santas workshop, or a raindeer stable. use painted cardboard and paper cutouts, and other supplys to make the decorations and decorate not just the door but the whole entry way. good luck, have fun and let us know what theme you go with!

oooooo, here's an idea....it's way out there though....I'm obsessed with that song by Fountains of Wayne "An Alien for Christmas" ("i want an alien for christmas, a little green guy about three feet high with sixteen eyes who knows how to fly........he can sleep in my bathtub so santa don't you worry about a thing......") how about a christmas in outerspace theme? make cutouts look like gingerbread alien men and put santa hats on them or have alien elves, and spaceships with christmas lights, get a small c.d. player and have that song playing on loop. i'll bet the kids would LOVE it, its wacky and fun and completely original.....

oh! your the nurse! awsome! use medical supplys to decorate, gauze wrap becomes a garland, toungue depressers painted green and glued together become a wooden wreath, or painted blue sprinkled with glitter can be used to make snowflakes, empty pill bottles become minuture snowmen.....bandades...hmmmm, yeah, cant quite think of a good one for them, but i would try and use as many things as you can to make it look festive and reflect what really lies behind that door.....

Maybe you could make a Christmas tree out of paper and use band-aids, cotton balls, etc. as ornaments?? Add a cute title and you are done! :) Good luck!

add lights to whatever you decide.
the kids would love that it lights up.
