Yesterday, I found out from my doctor that I have a pinched nerve on one side of my left knee while the other side has a torn meniscus. I wasn't sure what type of tissue the meniscus is referring to.

Weird coincidence, I've been studying the knee for my bio exam. The meniscus is cartilage ( more precisly fibrocartilage). There are two meniscus in the knee joint, the medial and the lateral one. They are C-shaped cushions. It has three functions, to stabilise, lubricate and to absorb shock in the knee joint.
