You are good enough to fill a bookshop with poetry books. I too have the same goal. I think your parents would be veryproud of you. what you need to do is to take some action towards your goal, I have the same problem mysef about getting started but have written to some publishers in the UK.( I live in Spain) to ask what the proceedure is. as for being a nutty woman? well that makes two of us........ welcome to the club.lol seriously people who think that maybe just a wee bit jealous of you.
GOOD LUCK.

I have answered one of your questions in other topic about opinions for your poems,I feel that you have a long way to go the perfect the skill of writing poems.

Your command of the english language in poetry writing needs a lot of honing to say the least, having said this though I wish you all the best in your quest.

Thousands amd thousands of would be writers are submitting their work to publishers but you need an edge to succeed, maybe long prose of depression is not the way to go.

Inspirational poems of hope and motivation are far more likely to be published over those which depict doom n gloom of life..Cheers you wanted a honest opinion you got it...Good Luck

poetry, no matter how good it is, is extremely hard to get published simply because people do not go out and buy poetry books........ so if you try and fail it has nothing to do with your skill as a poet... it has to do with the bottom line for the publishing companies and the bottom line is money....

It is not nutty to want to get your poetry published however it would be errant of anyone to tell you that this is how you will get published..... Just think when was the last time you walked into a shop and bought a brand new poetry book??

When was the last time your parents, friends, uncles, aunties, anyone you know walked into a book shop looking to buy a poetry book?

See now you will know why ublishers do not publish poetry books.

Well how old are you? If you're older than 14 or 15 you have a good shot if you really want to. Otherwise chances aren't as good, it also depends on how good the poems are but unless your parents are nutty I think they will back you all the way.

Look.I think u r afraid of failure.this I understand from your poem lines.Understand carefully.Once upon a time I was a person who hated failiurs.I will not join any competition.wheh the first time I went to a competition I had FAILURE.But I realised that it gave me an experience.
SO dont be afraid of failiurs.Age is not a reason where you cannot publish poems.GO NOW ITSELF & publish your poems.
