Margot Kidder was 39 in the last Superman movie, now supposedly 6 years has gone by, as well as a child born to the new Lois who is only 23! How did she complete college, establish a career, and have the child all by the age of 23. Or is Hollywood against women over 25??

Creative writing has taken over this character. Also, she seems really young because of the actor that plays her character in the movie. And another thing, my mom had me at age 17, finished college on time, and started a career right away. It can be done. =)

Returns is in effect Superman 3, ignoring #3&4 of the Reeve / Kidder Franchise. Also for what its work the guy who plays Clark in Smallville is actually older than the guy who played him in Returns(Welling is 10 years older than the Clark he plays)

One could argue that while the actors are far to young to be in the positions that they are in, perhaps the characters are meant to be at least Five years older than the actors, allowing Hollywood to let 2-3 years pass between films but have the action and timeline pick up within weeks of the end of the first one. The only problem with that is with the Kid who will naturally age within the 2 year break and would need to be recast if they pick up within days of the end of Returns.

Hollywood is so over people older than 25, unless they started at a younger age and are older then 25 now... God. Man. Wait...

Younger version, new Superman~he's young, too! Very young. Baby out of wedlock (we call that illegitimate)...why did that have to happen? Is that a sign of the times? I feel for you kids!
