I've been to TJ Maxx, Marshall's, Dress Barn, and Ross!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And the stores I've been to are full of ugly tacky stuff. I'm thinking forever21...

I'm a little overweight (155 lb 5'6) but I want something fun and dressy. Not a lot of fru-fru, simple as possible but cute.

Any ideas of stores?

FOREVER 21..i'm telling you
just because you feel that you are a little overweight, doesn't mean that you can't find the perfect dress..
their website has pages and pages of dresses, you will be sure to find something that will work

and the store has even more..
go there and try on every dress they have until you find the perfect party dress

if you don't like this store, maybe try going to JC Penney, they have really cute dressy clothes

good luck!!

Did you try the misses department at department stores? There are really good sales right now and some cute stuff out for Xmas. Forever 21 stuff might be possible, but their stuff tends to be clingy, and you might find the same problems you say in the other stores. Old Navy sometimes has some cute stuff out for the holidays, also.

um... JC Penneys, Dillards, Macys, Saks, Neaman Marcus, Younkers, Von Maur, Charlotte Rousse, Limited, New York & Company (they go up to a size 18)

the possiblities are endless.

P.S. - Dress Barn is for old ladies.

Most stores have plus sizes now, so shop around in other stores. Hot Topic is one of those trendy stores but they do have plus size clothing. I'd recommend looking around in your local areas to see what you have. The more urban your city or shopping area is the more diversity, the better.

Try Goodwill. Trust me. I have found some AMAZING stuff there for very little money.

Try Wet Seal as well. They're pricier, but have some neat stuff.
