The Wii is $250, period. It comes with one remote and one nunchuk (and batteries - the two make a full controler), AND one pretty awesome sports game. Games cost $50. It also will run any gamecube game (some of which you can buy for 10 bucks), and you can (for a small price - $5-10) download games from older systems, original NES, SNES, N64, Sega Genesis, and a whole lot of titles will be added to the downloadable/buyable list.
The PS3 however...... is $500 for the 'basic' system (which isn't even available), and $600 for the normal system. The games cost $60, and there aren't a lot of them. You can supposedly play any PS or PS2 game on the system, but I've heard some people have problems with that.
Because the PS3 is equipped with the Blu Ray Disc (or however you spell it) which is new, relatively untested, cutting edge technology, Sony is taking a loss on the systems - they are loosing about $50-80 on each system, which they of course hope to make up for with games. There are a VERY limited number of PS3's on the market, as opposed to Wii's.
Don't get me wrong - I'm a huge Sony fan - I've got a cordless phone, 2 alarm clocks, tv, laptop, dvd player, and reciever and entire sound system made by Sony (not to mention a PS1 and 2) - I trust their products as reliable..... But ..... The PS3 only has one really great looking game (Resistance: Fall of Man), and the promise of a few more decent games on the horizon. The Wii comes WITH a game (and a fun one at that), and while it lacks in graphics, it more than makes up for in gameplay - the interactive controller is a blast.

Ok for the Wii the system is 250$+60 games and memory card= about 400$. For the Ps3 800$ cconsole+60$ games+memory cards= about 1,000$. My suggestion is to go with the wii.

I've heard 250 for the system and 50 for games for the wii and 600 for the ps3. I like the wii better cause of the whole controler thing where you swing it around and all, and plus its cheaper than the ps3

the wii is 250.00 and the ps3 is 600.00 the games are basically the same price for both. i would probably choose the ps3 but wait to buy it until next year. i would choose it cuz i dont really like cartoony stuff like mario and donkey kong. i like realistic games. i thikn the ps3 will get cheaper next year and the games im interested in dont come out til next year. if you do like cartoony games then get a wii wich should also be cheaper by next year.

The wii is just a better interface and it is A LOT cheaper. Defitenly get a wii. Makes FPS's and action games really cool. Also it is good for multiplayer and racing games. (Fake steering wheel?!)
