And they say there aren't any stupid questions. *Sigh* You have some racial issues to work out within yourself. Seek God for help to change your mindset. I am a triple threat "minority".
I am Black, Female, and, Educated-Nationally Certified- Licensed-Own my own Business. Yet, I am just as humble as I can be. If I make it to 10 figures I will be as though I work a $2 an hour job. And I Don't like any of the Lois Vuitton Style, But I appreciate what he stood for.

First off I know plenty of "white" people who love LV, I think it is a transracial trend. However there is a rather more intense popular interest among minority groups, I personally believe this is simply a cultural trend, much like any other you find in any part of America: ie rural southern whites wearing hunting clothes, metal fans wearing black tshirts, and hair color trends among middle class white women. I think the only reason this trend would garner more attention than others is that LV is high priced merchandise and minorities are stereotyped as low income. So to answer your stereotyped question, (if one were a sociologist that accepts race as a demographic group, and therefore draw conclusions to an entire group and stereotype the group as poor) one sociological explanation could be drawn from Marxian thought and would say that the trend, along with other trends regarding high priced merchandise among the poor, such as luxury cars, jewelry, etc, is simply class envy. Marx believed the rich seeded ideas of envy among the poor so that they would try to emulate the rich in frivolous manners, and therefore spend money on pointless things keeping them in debt and in their societal place.

As with other expensive brands, it's a STATUS SYMBOL for people to carry/wear around to "prove" their worthiness to others that they don't know, don't care about, and will never see again. It is anpther status symbol for those who define their worth be the things they own.

its a status symbol. the rich 'american dream' flaunts pointless fashions such as louis vuitton, and the minorities believe that by jumping to the fashions and trends of the 'american dream' they will get there faster.
