i believe 4 quarters = 2 semesters, right? and no, that isn't too much for a year's worth of housing. in fact, it is down right cheap as heck. are you planning on living out of your car or do you just have 12 roommates?

if you are talking about a federal student loan, FAFSA, then the loan time is basically based on how quickly you can fill out the forms. After the Fin. Aid office gets your forms i believe the gov't sends the check out ASAP and any refund usually arrives to the student within 2 weeks of all the loan forms being signed. Now, if you are talking about an alternative student loan, like a private signature loan from sallie mae, that can take a month max. i generally plan on having 4-6 weeks of cash on hand to hold me over just in case, but it rarely takes that long. 4 weeks max usually.

Approved? There is no "approval" for a federal student loan. if you are a student, you will get it. Theres no income requirements. If youre asking how long it takes to get the money from it..that is dependent on when in the year you submit and how fast your finacial aid office works.
Few weeks perhaps
