They are a test. You said it yourself. They permit people to spend. Unless they got a barrel to their head ... only themselves to blame. If people can't not ring them phone lines, then they need to sort themselves out.

These shows do not physically force viewers to pick up the phone and ring the show. It's a conscious decision made by people at home, as they are attracted by the minute chance they have of getting through to the studio, let alone guessing some of the obscure answers they claim are "well-known." I wouldn't say they need serious investigation by OFCOM, as they arn't conning the public, we know it'l cost us 60p or whatever, we might not be able to get through, and our answer may not even be correct, yet thousands still ring in, despite this. Although it's not the show's fault, or that of the presenters, i do think they should limit the amount of shows on tv. It's like every channel has a different show on. Surely there are better things which broadcasters could show!?

Yes they should definately be investigated - while people do have free choice, call or not, we are not given the necessary information to make an informed choice. How long will we be on phone, therefore how much will it really cost? What is the average odds of getting through? If we do get through, what are the odds then of winning anything?
Also, there is too much of it - surely there is a moral problem with extracting so much money from people who can least afford it.

People are responsible for deciding whether or not to phone in. Part of being an adult is to be responsible for the consequences of your own actions. If they are incapable of making their own decisions in real life, they should give power of attorney to a relative.
I must say that the quiz channels and programmes on non-quiz channels late at night are a bad thing though. No content, just mindless money-making drivel!

I view poetry as a results of fact the expression of loose spirits fascinated by known subject concerns, besides the fact that if or no longer they are inspired by faith or by profound secular concept transcending widely used realities. i might choose to indicate you examine a poem by William Blake "Tiger", beginning with "Tiger, tiger burning vivid ...." the 1st stanza on my own introduces a metaphysical question from which the poet in no way departs. you will locate it on the internet or i could deliver it to you in case you choose. What I see expresses your deep and probable non secular sensitivity, and it could be marvelous if the worldwide adhered to three of your techniques. yet for my area it quite isn't any longer reasonable as there is not any area for human nature because it quite is, even at its terrific. What I see is a itemizing of do no longer and SHALL no longer, and poets are human, no longer saints. You intimate "do no longer try this and that using words including, mock/ridicule, envy, disrespect, accuse, do no longer declare ... better half. in the different case, "WORSHIP fellow poets/do no longer positioned your self above different poets etc." i presumed one worshipped purely God after all, and quite some poets previous and modern-day are intellectually far above others. i wish you spot my element and don't regard this as a poetic criticism of any form. it quite is with deep know for somebody such as you that I took the liberty of expressing my reactions to what you have written.

its up to people to suss this out for themselves. if they are daft enuff to spend so much money then it is their fault. the programme is out to make money not give it away so the majority of people will will be kept on the line without getting through that way they programme makes a profit by not paying out as much as they give away. as this is what all buisenesses do then these programmes cannot be investigated when other companies are left to do what they do daily.

(it will be the actual coin value in pence + the times the coins say pence + the number on the coin + number of fingers the producer is holding up). what a load of crap. you have to be stupid to call them

Yep, it is NOT entertainment!
I wonder how long they are kept hanging on the telephone, before they find out they did not get through to the studio!
