Did President Jimmy Carter consider running for President in 1984 after he was defeated by California Governor Ronald Reagan in 1980?

He may have privately considered another run, but was never mentioned publicly. He was defeated rather soundly by Reagan in '80, and the conventional wisdom among the Democrats was that they needed a "fresh" face. I believe that the Mondale/Ferarro nomination was an obviously desperate move by Dems to draw attention and votes; neither of which worked out as witnessed by the historically large win by Reagan.

DID he ever run, NO. Did he "consider": I don't know... but I strongly doubt it. Remember he left office with the hostages still in Iran.

Reagan ALSO took 61% of the popular vote and 91% of the electoral vote.

Sadly, in the last few years, President Carter has started acting like he's still in office rather than acting as a former president.

No. He was soundly defeated that year and he realized his time in the presidency was over. The following election with the resounding defeat of Mondale simply underscored Carter’s loss.

Certainly President Carter’s loss was not a surprise. With the exception of the Israel/Egypt treaty, his administration was spectacularly ineffective.

his biggest downfall was the hostage situation in Iran, they didn't get released till the day after he got out of the Oval office, now he does humanitarian work and seminars
