well, I used the low dose pill, but I beg of you, do NOT take the depo injection.......worst ever......I was on my period ALL THE TIME, everyday, and my temperment went through the roof, my hubby deemed me "superbi t ch" and honestly I was, then came the obligatory gaining of 30lbs (hello I never ate and was in the gym CONSTANTLY) After 2 shots I went off it, my periods are still irregular and that was 6 yrs ago.

I was on the pill when I lived at home and I often forgot to take the pill. I was so busy that I didn't have time to have sex much less take a pill. Then after I moved out my doctor put me on the patch because I told her that I would often forget to take the pills. Then I got pregnant on the patch (and had a miscarriage). I think there are a few law suits out there for the problems people experienced on the patch. The my bf then (hubby now) and I just used condoms. This was fine until I got pregnant again after I was married. The day I left the hospital after giving birth I received the depo shot. OMG I gained so much weight of one shot that I could bear to go get anymore. I am currently 24 weeks pregnant now and after this baby is born we are talking about either having an IUD or the implant in my arm.

My sister-in-law had an IUD put in after her baby was born. Not even a week later was put in for emergency surgery. The IUD tore through her uterus and was floating around in her abdomen. I am a little weary about having an IUD. I have also heard that the IUD aren't that effective either. If you get pregnant with your IUD inserted it can be very harmful to the baby. So I can't tell you what is the best method but I am leaning closer to the five year implant.

I hope this will help you. Good Luck and Congratulations on baby #2.

Right after my son was born (well at my checkup) I went on the depo shot. What a mistake. I lost all my baby weight in like three weeks (how I don't know it just melted off). Well, once I was on the depo I gained a ton of weight. I only went for two shots and couldn't deal with the weight gain anymore so I went off of it. Needless to say I couldn't get rid of the weight. My son is four now and I'm 31 weeks pregnant with my second child. I was about 40lbs heavier when I got pregnant with this baby then with my son. I blame the depo. I also tried to nuva ring in there and had the same problem with weight gain and with it falling out. So finally I tried an IUD but got horrible cramps with it. Other than that the IUD was good. After this baby I refuse to take anything with hormones so pretty much no birth control. My husband and I will just have to be safe or he'll have to have a vasectomy lol.

I chose the pill because my ex refused to use a condom, I had known too many women who got pregnant (one almost died as a result) on the IUD and diaprams aren't that reliable. I had originally wanted a tubal when my daughter was delivered but in those days getting one was like pulling teeth if you had an only child. I was finally able to convince a doctor that at almost 37 years of age I had no intentions of having another child and either HE would do the procedure Or I would...Then four years after the tubal I had hysterecotmy.

ive had two children, after the first one we just used condoms-bad idea, thats why i now have two-i just wanted to wait a little longer! anyway then after the second one i was put on mercette-the pill but i kept getting headaches, so now ive been on the nuvaring for a little over a year, and i LOVE it!!! i dont have to worry about taking the pill and forgetting, i just put it in for three weeks and take it out for one and have a period. it can be a little scary to look at, but we have not had any problems with it at all. supposedly some times men feel it when they have sex, but even when my husband does, it doesnt bother him, the only problem can be it coming out during sex, but just rinse it off and put it back in!!!! but just talk to your dr about it and ask him because from my personal opinion it is the best i have found

My Dr gave me the Nuva Ring, made me feel angry all the time. So I removed that, not using anything yet, only condoms. The Nuva Ring is a once a month thing, 3 weeks in one week ring free. I think it would have been great if the hormones were a little weaker for me.

I had three...and used the pill until I had #3. Then we went for a more permant solution...I always thought the pill was the best effective option...I've heard too many times about pregnancy on other methods.

The pill! Never had a problem with it. It's reliable if you remember to take it faithfully. Helps periods stay normal and regulated, too.
