If the money is in their account and doesn't have to be drawn out of their bank account then immediately. If it is being drawn from their bank account into their Paypal and then to you about 3 days.

If the money is sent from their PayPal balance, or as an instant transfer from a bank account as a back-up funding source then it's almost instantly. If it's any other method of payment then however long it takes PayPal to clear the payment.

If from funds already in paypal account it should happen at once. If via check, cc etc could take upto 4 days.

(With my experiences) once the person sends the money, the receiving account sees the new balance immediately. So, all you're waiting for is the person to send it to you.

If the person sends you money it is an instant payment and you will receive it within minutes of them paying.

If they don't already have it in their pay pal acct it can take 2-3 days. I think it tells you it's happening but it's not actually in your acct.
