PS3 in the houseeeeeee!!

If your parents are willing to drop a grand on a Christmas present for you, go for a PS3.. also, slap your parents for me.
The only reasons you wouldn't want a PS3 are for price reasons but online playability is a valid reason to want a 360. XBox live is established and popular, there's no telling what the quality and extent of the PS3's online features will be or for how many games. Online is an intergal part of XBox and most of the games have XBox Live features.
I have a Wii and I love it, but don't listen to those people who say you should get it. Wii isn't for everyone and if you're interested in a PS3 or 360 you're probably more interested in graphics and the standard gaming experince. You'll have a Wii sooner or later anyway. Everyone will. :D
Also, don't be too swayed by Blu Ray. The games aren't in Blue Ray yet and there's no telling weather the technology will pay off. It might end up being a really expensive and completely ignored format in a few years. It probably won't and infact, the PS3 might even make it *THE* standard. But PS3 isn't going anywhere either, don't buy it based on just that feature until Blu Ray *really* takes off. That's not to say don't get one, but don't decide because of Blu Ray alone.

If you were to ask me, I would say the 360. First off, the obvious, its a WHOLE lot cheaper. Secondly, the PS3 uses blu-ray disks so that limits what you can play on your PS3. Some of the features on the 360 are almost exactly the same as the PS3 if not better and like i said before, its cheaper and your more likely to find a 360. And one more tiny thing. If your a GTA fan, they're coming out with a new one in October '07. Well i heard the GTA stopped its contract with playstation so....its something to think about.

dude ps3 is way more expensive with no noticeable differences compared to 360. So 360 is the way to go and plus Halo 3 will come out 2007 and bunch of ps3 games will go to 360 including gta and hopefully metal gear 4 and it's decent pricing.

ps3 is in fact better than 360 because it was released later with better technology
it used the new blu-ray format and can also have online play
the only real matter is the types of games u like
if u liked t the ps games better than xbox games get the ps3 if u like xbox games better get the 360
though ps3 is slightly more expensive

Xbox 360. Ps# is known to have problems since it cant play some ps3 games for some reason. I saw a ps3 in a best buy for ppl to play it 2 see wut it's like, it started smoking, it was sorta scary, plus xbox 360 can get u xbox live, where u can play with whoever u want in the country! especcially if u r playing call of duty
