She is getting an Ibanez acoustic guitar for christmas. Does anyone know the average rates for lessons? Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Lessons generally from about $13 - $20 an hour. A good way would be to get a teacher for a bit to have her learn basics , then go online and learn from the many resources the net has to offer..

dont force it on her, make sure its something she wants to do and will appreciate. back in the day when i took lessons they ran about 19 dollars per half hour, and i had them once per week.

if it's as much as piano probably 30 to 50 bucks an hour
