In case of any doubt in the mind of Umpires, the benefit goes to the batsman and that was the reason why Pietersen was not given out. One has to go by the decision of the Umpire as they are the best judges on the field of play.

Not sure why Lee and Gilchrist seemed so convinced. Nothing on the replay to suggest he nicked it - ball didn't deviate at all. Thing Bucknor got it right.

Emphatically NO.Steve Bucknor got it right.Snickometer and HotSpot both indicated he had not hit the ball with the Bat.

It's the Man in white who calls it, nobody else, not the Commentators, not Hawkeye, not the Snickometer just the Umpire, and if says not out, then Not out it is./

what does it matter, it's the umpire who say's if he'sin or out and we can chat about it until the cows come home but it won't change anything. But as to your question; yes he should have been out but then again I think that collingwood was unlucky to be given out but thats cricket.
