I am trying to find out info on Acwoth,I am relocating and was wondering is the area diverse and is it very rural? I am in a interracial relationship and I am concerned how the people are there.I am a white woman dating a blk man and have a adult daughter of 20yrs old,I don't want to be in a uncomfortable situation.

Anyplace you go there will be people who don't approve. Simply seek out those places where you live that don't create problems. I think you will likely find, particularly if you look, disapproval from both some blacks and some whites. It is not possible to characterize "people" in a particular area. All people are individuals.

Acworth is in the Atlanta metro area, not in the real rural south. Alternatively, it is either in or close to the district previously represented by Newt Gingrich.

Not everyone in the South is racist. However, like anyplace else in the US there are some people who are racist. I find that racists in the South tend to be pretty straight forward about it. Personally, I prefer that honesty over someone who is racist and you don't know it. Also, interracial couples are quite common now. You shouldn't have any problems other than the normal adjustment to someplace new.

Why would you assume that people from Georgia are racists?

No one will care who you date. It's 2006.
