I lost my brother and fiance in a car accident. Has anyone been thru this and have any advice for me? They were drinking and driving. Does anyone know of any support groups for this? Not the drinking part, the grief.

I'm so sorry for you. This must be a very difficult time. Having lost my entire family, except my sister, I can tell you this: IT DOES GET EASIER. I don't know about your area but above is a grief forum. You might want to go there and talk to others that have a similar situation.
Good luck and take care of yourself!!

I am so, so sorry for this tragic loss in your life. I too will add you to my prayers.

You don't say where you're located, and I suspect a lot will depend on that. My first thought is this: if you work full time, does your company offer an Employee Assistance Program? They will be able to put you in touch with support groups. In addition, EAP will usually pay 100% of up to three visits with a counselor. Then you share the cost with a nominal co-pay.

Try looking up "Counseling" in the Better Business Bureau website below. Also, you might check with your local hospital. Most facilities have some sort of working relationship with various counseling groups.

I wish you peace, comfort and a renewed spirit. May you find a way to celebrate their lives and what they each meant to you.

I lost 2 friends at the same time also in a car accident. They were together as well. There should be a grief support group in your area. Funeral homes usually know where they can be found.

Consult something at your local church. I've heard of churches who have had support groups for parents who have lost their children. Were they the one's drinking and driving?

I haven't been through it personally--I know people who have--AL-Anon helps and so does church.
