Bottom Line....William Clay Ford!!!! It all starts at the top and he has remained the one constant in all these years of forgettable Lion football. As ignorant as Matt Millen is (and this clown has actually managed to make the Lions worse...and to think that was even possible) even he is smarter than Ford. He outsmarted him enough to get the job, keep the job and tell him that the talent is there...its the coach. So instead of firing Millen Ford is stupid enought to believe him, if the heat picks up this off season pay attention to how quickly Millen will blame the coaching staff for not getting the best out of this talented team ( and Ford will believe there is some talent). Name 5 starters that were drafted by Millen in the last 5 years. Pretty sad to think with at least 35 draft picks he has failed miserably with his picks. He talks about drafting "character players" every year then turns around and drafts Charles Rogers, Mike Williams, Shuan Rogers, etc.. And now we hear the moaning from Lions brass about fan apathy??? Are they serious???? Isnt it time that the 40 year rebuilding project actually came with results???? Every expansion team since the Lions have been owned by the Fords have won more playoff games than the Lions (and Super Bowls)!!!! And to think us fans are so selfish and think we deserve better....the nerve of us!!!

The reason the lions can t get to a Superbowl is because they believe theirs some kind of curse on them that hinders them from winning crucial games. I believe the team has so many doubts going into a game that they give up to easily. Also they don t work as a team. The offense would be better if the O-line would just give Matthew Stafford more time. You look at guys like Tom Brady have all the time in the world to throw the ball. The D-line needs to get hungry again and eat other teams alive. For example Miles Killebrew, the man that says in his youtube biography. "On the field, miles killebrew is a guy that wants to kill you". If the lions D-line had that kind of mentality, we might have a chance. If this team worked together, they would have each others backs and pull out the win. Lions need to believe, and work together. Otherwise all is lost. Lastly, Matt Stafford, This is your year to be the leader. Use that cannon of an arm, get mobile if the situation calls for it, and go long when the other teams don t expect it. O-line, protect the your QB, and please make a hole for the RB S. D-line, get hungry, force the fumbles and Interceptions. And most of all, work as a team and have each others backs.

Cuz they have no leader, no real good QB, and the gameplan to beat them is basic: Stop Roy Williams. They don't have any other real weapons. Their defense gives up 131 rushing yards per game, averages 24 points against per game, and averages 77 rushing yards per game. Kitna has a 12-13 TD-Int ratio. Their 3rd down conv. percent is 31 percent while they yield 42 percent on 3rd downs on D. Kitna has been sacked 41 times. They have 21 TDs as of today. They have 19 turnovers. Their turnovers are almost even with their TDs as you may have noticed. And plus you have to be really good to get to the SuperBowl obviously so i think mediocrity (which the Lions are very far from) will not be good enough for even a playoff bid of course

"Matt friggin' Millen"

Good Answer. I am a Detroit Lions fan and i would have to say it is because of Millen also. I heard he signed a 5 year contract last year? Does anybody know if this is true? We beat the teams that we aren't supposed to beat like the Falcons and the Bills. We lose to very easy teams like San Fran and Miami.

We don't chant "Fire Millen!" for fun.

WELL..WELL..WELL..LAST NIGHT I WAS ON MY SOAPBOX. SO TODAY I WILL BE A GOOD BOY. DETROIT IS A SMALL MARKET WITH A DETERIORATING ECONOMY. THEY LET THE AUTO INDUSTRY GO BANKRUPT, THEN MOVE OUT OF THE COUNTRY. THIER CRIME RATE IS OUT OF HAND, AND SO IS THE OWNERSHIP. PERSONALLY I THINK THE OWNERSHIP HOPES ENOUGH PEOPLE WILL GET FED UP WITH THE LOSING' SO THEY CAN SELL THE MONEY PIT THEY HAVE BUILT SINCE LOOSING THE GREAT BERRY SANDERS. A NUMBER OF #1 PICKS HAVE LOST THEY'RE FOOTBALL HEARTS. DETROIT HAS LOST THEIR FOOTBALL BASE, AND MATTY BOY HAS LOST HIS EVERLOVIN' COMMON SINCE. I FIND IT HARD TO MAKE THESE STATEMENTS BECAUSE, I PLAYED HIGH SCHOOL, COLL.FOOTBALL. THE HITS I TOOK MADE MY BODY HURT, BUT ALL THE HITS MATT TOOK , STILL IS NO REASON FOR HIM TO MAKE THE WHOLE NFL HURT OR BE EMBARRASS.

Because their stupid owner rather host a Superbowl than be in a superbowl. As witnessed by Ford refusing to fire Matt Millen.

They have the worst owenrship in the sport. The owners can't do anything right. They had the greatest RB in the history of the sport and the owners were too stupid to build around him. Incompetence at the top is the problem.
