I'm going to a dressy office party, and I saw a nice pair of mules that I was considering wearing with my outfit. Skirt is long (but not floor length) and black, mules are beaded, black, closed-toed. I was thinking black nylons, but I'm not into fashion, so I don't know if this will work. Any fashionistas willing to give advice? Thanks!

Ultra sheer black will also look very nice. To handle the concern of your foot slipping out of the shoe, you can buy a small cushion pad that fits inside your shoe that will keep your foot from slipping.

No! In no way should you ever ever wear pantyhose with open toed shoes or with mules. Trust me -- I know this. It's so not right to wear hose that show.
If you need to have the feel of pantyhose "up top" get some Spanx (http://www.spanx.com/pls/enetrixp/!stmenu_template.main) or even buy generic control top pantyhose and cut of the foot portion to a length that won't show under your skirt.
Plus, with mules your feet may slip when wearing pantyhose. You need the extra traction that skin can provide when wearing mules.
It's a HUGE fashion mistake to wear any open-toed or open-backed shoe with pantyhose. You gotta trust me on this one. Look at any fashion magazine -- Vogue, W, even InStyle. You will never see anyone wearing pantyhose that shows.

Definitely wear the stockings with a long skirt and beaded shoes. Bare feet look terrible at dressy affairs.. Get the sheerest stockings you can find, in black so they look dressy and not casual. Check out this website for some sheer stockings and pantyhose.

I would say, in this case, that black stockings would be fine- probably better. Having your bare heel sticking out of a mule in winter at a dressy party is a no- so wear the stockings!

They need to follow the fox rule of mule. Wearing black
nylons is good, the item to wear is something you can sing in,
sirius it is the event for relaxation.

I really like long skirts. My bf likes the short ones. So my wardrobe is stuffed w/ 1/2 and 1/2.

If they're closed toes, wearing tights is perfectly ok, so do as you're more comfortable. But if you can as well wear them barelegs (i mean not cold or suck), they're more usually worn without socks.
