I'm from CT and thinking about going to Boston to celebrate New Year's. I am trying to find a bar/club with a hotel or motel nearby, nothin fancy though, just somewhere to sleep.

Well, all of the bars in the Alley will have good new year's eve parties, as well as just about every bar in the city. You'll need to plan ahead and buy tickets, etc. Try Game On, it's supposed to be fun. Also, to save money stay a little outside of the city, like the Holiday Inn in Brookline or something. You'll need to spend $10 on a cab, but you'll save way more on hotel prices.

i'm from south of boston, whenever i go there for new years eve i just buy the pin they sell for first night which allows you to go to several pubs/bars and different events. go to the city of boston official web page and you shoul find all you need to know about first night. if you want someplace cheaper to stay, you should consider staying outside of the city and taking the T in. Trust me, you want to drive into Boston that night unless you like bumper to bumper traffic and choas. The T goes as far south to Lakeville Ma. with plenty of parking at all stops. I don't know much about the other directions, but all thats on line too.

because they are probable lower than the effect of alcohol, or perchance each and every of the falseness of christmas is now begining to seep into new 12 months and we are getting bitter and cinical and pissd off with the bs. or perchance i'm only a moaning previous fart. :/ next 12 months for me its a pagan christmas and new 12 months, inspite of the actuality that that includes. :)

Cheers is on Beacon Street; not Newbury Street.
