ok, here's another line of thinking. I fully understand the choice of people who are anti-abortion. To you, it is murder, period. Fine, don't have an abortion. Anything other than that is squelching any other person's freedom of choice. Some folks say fetus, some even say longer, some say conception, although I have a hard time picturing the second a sperm hits an egg as a human life. Regardless of the exact "moment" a fertalized egg becomes a human being, do you have the moral right to tell me what I should do?

I don't make a lot of comments, one is needed here I feel. $6.00 p/h, no I don't have the right to tell you what to pay a person, but since we're talking morals, that's $12480.00 a year. 15% tax rate, $10608.00. Let's say $400 a month rent, $100 a week for food and that leaves, $608.00 for the rest of their needs for the year. That wouldn't bother you? Morals? Please.

I am kind of torn on this issue. On one hand it's like taking the role of God into your own hands. On the other hand if God does everything for a "reason", then he has obviously kept abortion legal for some reason. Do you realize how over-populated this world would be if no one had abortion rights? As far as what stage to have an abortion......... I don't remember anything after birth for at least a couple of years. When a woman miscarries, do you call all of your relatives and fork out $5,000 for a funeral? Why not? Aren't they a "human"? There are a lot of double standards out there. If you don't believe in abortion, DON'T GET AN ABORTION! If we find out it's wrong when we die, then the mother is the one who has to deal with God's Wrath, so let's try to mind our own business.

The problem with your argument, is that following the same line of reasoning I could very well say, since I killed a person, you have no right to stop me.
And yes, everyone has the moral right to tell everyone what to do.
But again on the abortion. If someone says, "Its my body, i do what I want with it, and no one can tell me what to do." Even the father is not alloted in the decision making process. But from such, what if the father wants an abortion and the woman does not? She goes ahead and has the baby because it is "her body" and from such, the man has to pay child support. Where did equality go? We did not have to even bring the baby's equality in here either.
I am personally against abortion, but I don't think it should be illegal, for one reason, and one reason only. If it were made illegal again the rich would leave the country for an abortion and the poor would get them on the streets, and most likely die. I don't find that equality either.
PS Watch how you use the word "right", that is a very vague term and unless you mean the rights from the constitution, it can mean almost anything

Yes....humans have always reserved that right. People who disagree are criminals. Those who insist they have a right to commit acts of heinous evil have been removed from society in various ways.
Prior to the modern age, had you done what is today called abortion, you would have been executed for it. And for good reason. No society can tolerate evil of that depth and survive. Today, we allow sophists to confuse the issue and evil men to use that to change society in such a way that it can no longer survive. This has always been the goal of the pro-abortion crowd.
They know that if we accept genocide and worse, allow it to become.....normal, that we are finished as a people. And can THIS be called anything but genocide:
http://www.nrlc.org/abortion/facts/abortionstats.html
The thing that the pro-abortionist needs to realize (at least the ones that haven't fallen so far into heinous evil that there is no hope) is that this is a purposeful manipulation. An attack on western civilization by an old enemy of ours. During th cold war, soviet mind control experts came up with various techniques designed to wipe out the western world by rotting it away at its core. This became clear after Kruschev opened up the soviet archives. The whole abortion thing is nothing more than one of these techniques.
Not only is what you are doing, wrong. But the reason you are doing it is you have been brainwashed.

Do I have the moral right to tell you not to shoot someone-yes. I am pro-life. It is murder. It is not just a personal decision as some would like to say. It affects someone other than the mother: the baby. So all this "It should be up to the mother and mother only" stuff is crap. The baby has no say, and therefore has no chance. Who else is going to protect that baby's life and rights if not the government? If so many people didn't use abortion as a form of birth control-it wouldn't even be an issue. Killing someone for convience has no excuse.

Excellent question and well thought out.
It should be obvious that, as you state in your question, if a person truly believes abortion to be murder, then it follows that it is not your right - murder is and should be against the law. Your argument is therefore only reinforced by the law concerning abortion - since it is not illegal - it becomes your "choice."
Consider this line of thinking, for instance, if the Supreme Court ruled that "abortion" was OK up to 30 minutes after the actual birth, I'm quite sure you would oppose this ruling - and yet the proponents of this ruling would use the exact same arguent that is now used and would question anyones position that tried to take this "right" or "choice" away from them.

We can all agree that taking a human life is a serious moral offense.
No one can scientifically state when a fetus becomes a human being e.g. is it at the beginning of the third trimester, one minute prior to delivery, not until actually delivered, etc.?
Given that taking a human life is such a moral offense there is a moral imperative to assume that human life begins at the moment of conception absent convincing evidence of a philosophical or scientific nature rebutting that assmption.

okay well since you are so into your rights lets talk. You want the right to have an abortion. I say it is murder. But you free it is your right. And I feel it is my right to say what I want due to the first amendment. So do I have the right to tell you what to do? No I don't. But I can tell you how I feel about it. I am not forcing a gun to your head and saying you have to do something am I? Nope simply telling you it is murder.

I'm pro-choice, but just to play Devil's advocate here - if someone truly believes that abortion is murder, wouldn't they have a moral obligation to try and stop you?

My opinion is that what someone believes in doesn't negate them having the ability to "tell" someone else to do it their way. Our country is all about choices and that is why we all have a vote come election time. I have my thought on the issue and each and every other Yahoo!Answers typist has another thought. Aren't you glad we can all vote? Prayers =)

Nobody has the right to tell anyone else what to do in this case.
And as far as the "when does it become human" argument, it is my thought that if the fetus cannot survive without its host, it cannot be considered human just yet.
