rocks forms from the soils that comes out from the sea or what i mean that it forms from the sand or dust every thing that away from the heat and its usually dull like the(limestone) the minerals forms from the magma that comes out of the volcanoes and the the earth's core and its usually shiny like (metamorphics)you have to read geology book which talkes about rocks and minerals. hope i helped. trust my answer am a specialist.
